    Baldwin Hills Estates is often cited as Los Angeles’s hidden secret. The estates are characterized by winding streets beginning with the Spanish word “Don” (translated Sir in English). The community’s central location provides for beautiful views of the surrounding communities from the Santa Monica Mountains to the Downtown L.A. skyline. Its central location also positions it 10 minutes from LAX Airport, 15 minutes from Downtown, the Beach and minutes away from Los Angeles’s most popular venues and sites. Located atop a natural hilltop in the historic Baldwin Hills, the residential community is adjacent to the Crenshaw District. Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area borders the community on the west and neighboring communities include View Park, Windsor Hills and Ladera Heights. Baldwin Hills Estates places an important emphasis on preserving its close-kit community. 

    History of Baldwin Hills Estates and the Homeowners Association Baldwin Hills was named after Elias J. “Lucky: Baldwin (1828-1909), a San Francisco hotelier and one of Los Angeles’s most wealthy and prominent landowners and financiers. The development of the Baldwin Hills Estates began during the early 1950’s. In 1954, the Baldwin Hills Estates Homeowners Association was established to allow residents to become active in the community and to represent their interests in the neighborhood. In 1978, the Baldwin Hills Estates Homeowners Association was assigned legal authority tooversee the declarations of restrictions. The homeowners association is committed to preserving the residential neighborhood, the vista views and the reputation and high standards for our community.
